S. 556 Jeffords' Clean Power Act

The Senate Environment and Public Works Committee will mark up Chairman Jeffords' Clean Power Act (S. 556) this Thursday. This bill would address dangerous air pollution, regional haze, acid rain, mercury pollution and climate change in one fell swoop. The bill offers comprehensive and dramatic reductions in four key pollutants- sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxide, mercury and carbon dioxide.
