On June 2, 2003, EPA published in the Federal Register its new plan for implementing the 8-hour ozone standard. The Agency developed the plan in response to the Supreme Court's remand of the original 1997 implementation plan. Essentially, the implementation plan lays out a number of different options that EPA is entertaining to allow the maximum flexibility to states violating the standard as well as time, while allowing ample opportunities to avoid local controls or sanctions for failure to attain the standard.

Hearings are schedule for June 17th in Ft Worth, June 19th in San Francisco, and June 27th in Alexandria (just outside of DC).
