New Source Review (NSR) Listserve
As the Bush Administration gets closer to what we expect will be a major roll-back of the Clean Air Act's New Source Review (NSR) program, I'm sending out this reminder that there is an NSR listserve for members of the environmental community who are interested in fighting to protect NSR. The listserve was set up shortly after the Bush energy plan was released, which called upon various agencies (primarily EPA, DOE and DOJ) to review NSR regulations and enforcement actions for negative impacts they may be having on U.S. energy production. NSR is the Clean Air Act's primary tool for cleaning up older, grandfathered power plants, refineries and other industrial facilities. Since the Bush plan was released, industry has doggedly lobbied to have NSR critically weakened or eliminated altogether. It now appears that the Administration will act on NSR within the next few months. The listserve will be our primary means of communication in coordinating the environmental community's defense of NSR. To Join the Listserve ... If you would like to join the listserve, please send me an e-mail (mwenzler@environet.org), and include (1) your name; (2) e-mail address; (3) phone/address; and (4) organizational affiliation. I've cc'd this message to the NSR listserve so you can see if you're already on it. |
