How is heat index calculated?
Some say that the higher the humidity the higher the temperature, but that is not true at all. In some cities this is the case, but not all. For example, San Francisco's temperature right now is 57 degrees and the heat index is also 57 degrees however, the humidity is a very high 89 %. How does that make sense?

If we have the technology to drill deep into oceans for oil, why can't we drill into the earth for heat?I would like to invest into such companies that specialize in geothermal technology development and energy producing as I feel this an infant industry that is underfunded in America, but I want to diversify. Is there any index or mutual fund out there that specializes in geothermal?

This has the latest Japanese earthquakes which I find interesting to compare with the American site earthquake.usgs.gov earthquakes recenteqsww Quakes quakes all.php which supposedly has all the earthquakes in the world, but found out the USGS only tell you the ones they decide to, and then adjust the magnitudes according to whichever political force sponsor is controlling them. Trouble is, I cannot tell what names on the Japanese site correspond to the USGS site, so i need them translated. Miyagi ken Oki, Iwate ken Oki, and Sanriku Oki would be a big help.
